World 02

Seven people, one forge

We started in a Rotterdam attic with two laptops and a borrowed Game Boy. Today we are seven developers who still answer every bug report ourselves.

Our story

Small on purpose

PixelForge was founded in 2019 by Mara Okafor and Jonas Lindgren after a game jam entry about a moth with a lantern got 40,000 downloads in a weekend. That jam game became Lanternfall.

We have turned down two acquisition offers and a publisher deal that wanted a battle pass. We fund our games from our own sales, work four days a week and ship when the game is ready — not before.

How we work

House rules

01

No crunch, ever

We slip dates before we slip weekends. It has happened twice.

02

Players in the loop

Every game goes through at least three open playtests before launch.

03

Fair prices

No loot boxes, no battle passes, no paid currency. Buy it once, own it.
